Our History
We are a family owned and operated business with over 70 years of history in the jewelry industry. Bill Farmer, Jr. and his sister Kristi Farmer Lykins grew up in the jewelry industry, were trained by their parents and they continue their legacy today.
After graduating from watchmaking school in Louisville, KY Bill Farmer, Sr. came to Lexington in 1950 and fulfilled his dream of opening a jewelry store on the “sunny side of the street” at 821 Euclid Avenue in Chevy Chase. Soon thereafter his wife, Jean Farmer joined him in the business and for over 40 years they worked together helping their customers and friends celebrate life’s important moments.
After graduating from the University of Kentucky and the Gemological Institute of America, both Bill Farmer, Jr. and his sister Kristi Farmer Lykins joined the family business as second-generation jewelers. Both Bill and Kristi hold titles of Certified Gemologist, Registered Jeweler, and are members of the American Gem Society. Bill holds an additional title of Certified Gemologist Appraiser.
Since opening our doors, we have helped celebrate many life events, but what we cherish most is being part of your lives in each moment that you want to celebrate. We have over 100 years of experience in helping you make memories that you can cherish for a lifetime.
